My Art Process

• Art is a discipline of internal movement- a subtle and delicate practice of following the creative impulse: that intangible, nonverbal dynamic that simultaneously connects me with my most authentic self and Spirit. Truth lives and breathes in the creative process. When I attempt to control truth or define it in a fixed manner, it slips away from me. Instead truth merges with the diversity and mutability of life and creation. Through artistic discipline, I attune to truth’s fluidity and vitality.

• Art asks me to courageously open myself to whatever wishes to come into being in the moment. Art is not about making what I want come into existence; rather, art is about inviting truth to guide me. It is a matter of being humble, responsive and co-creative with what Spirit wishes to manifest in each moment of creative communion.

• When I practice and witness art, I collaborate with the Universe. A conduit to the Spirit’s Intention opens when I reverently turn inwardly to the creative process and am present to what wants to manifest in my life. Art requires a willingness to abandon societal constructs of reality. Preconceived beliefs, formulas, and judgments fade as I directly experience the vibrantly alive face of Spirit’s and Intention.

• The practice and witness of art reestablishes and enhances my connection with Spirit. Like prayer and meditation, but more immediately and tangibly, art returns me to my Essence. It takes me inward and focuses my awareness on that delicate communion, which sustains me and aligns me with my authentic Self.
